Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John

Everything went smoothly, and we had a great time. Eric from concierge made it especially memorable. While we were working in the lobby, he brought us water without us asking and checked that we were comfortable. It was a thoughtful gesture that showed how much he cares about guests. Service like that makes a big difference, and we’d absolutely stay again.

The location made it easy to get to nearby restaurants, cafes, and TD Station. Our room was clean, and everyone we dealt with on staff was pleasant. The hotel itself feels dated and is missing some of the newer Delta touches, like a pantry or a members' lounge. Try for a city-view room if you can. Otherwise, you may look out onto a central area with bird nests and the glass roof of a dead mall, as well as straight into other guest rooms.

We had a great stay, and the view was lovely. The gym was bigger than most hotel gyms I’ve used, and the paid breakfast was well worth it. We got a mountain of bacon and a nice woman was looking after breakfast. Parking next door caused some trouble. They blocked one garage exit without telling guests or putting up a sign to show that the fourth-floor exit was the one to use. Another guest got upset, drove over the curb and down the hill by the main exit, damaged his truck, and frightened his wife with the loud scraping metal sounds. Aside from that, it was a great stay.

The room had plenty of space and was nicely equipped, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well located. The staff were friendly and helpful, so the stay was very positive for both work or a leisure trip. A couple of things felt dated, especially the shower head and elevators. Parking could also be awkward with a large SUV: the garage clearance is only 6’2”, so a taller vehicle may need to park outside or use the valet in front. Even with those small drawbacks, I’d recommend the Delta Hotel in Saint John for a convenient, pleasant stay.
