The owner made us feel very welcome and gave us great tips for visiting Saint-Siméon and the surrounding area in the off-season. We had some really interesting conversations, too. Everything was just right, and breakfast included sea buckthorn, a fruit we hadn’t tried before. We highly recommend this place.

Clodette made us feel at ease right away. She’s such a lovely person. Our room faced the courtyard and was very quiet, and we enjoyed the breakfast.

The clean, comfortable cottage was lovely, and Claudette is a joyful, bubbly host who really pays attention to her guests. We’d happily recommend staying here.

I never got to stay there. I called in the morning and explained that I’d be coming with two children. After she got another call, I became interested and booked through a reservation site. Great, I thought. But that evening she called to say I couldn’t take over the living room and kitchen, that it wasn’t a chalet or hotel, but a gîte. She said guests leave in the morning and return around 4, and that she only tolerates them coming back an hour early. There aren’t guests there during the day. I felt insulted, so I cancelled. I can’t imagine driving six hours just to stay inside the gîte all day with my kids when there’s so much to see around here. What a shame. Draw your own conclusions.
