Comfort Inn St Thomas

The rooms were clean, but the staff experience left us with a really disappointing last impression. Our group was still having breakfast and quietly watching the Men’s Olympic gold-medal hockey game on Sunday morning. The breakfast area usually closes at 10 for cleaning, so we politely asked if the TV could stay on for another 20 minutes, or if the game could be put on the lobby TV instead. Both would have cost nothing, but the assistant manager refused and abruptly switched off both TVs at 10:00 AM, while some of us were still eating. Joanne, the Assistant Manager at this location, came across as rigid, rude, and unwelcoming. There was no basic effort at hospitality or customer service. We wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

The included breakfast was more than adequate, with eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, yogurt, and other options. The room was clean, but the mattresses and pillows were much too soft and I slept terribly. There was a hockey tournament on, and older kids on our floor stayed loud well past midnight, so we barely slept before our 6am alarm for an early game. We were on the second floor, and there’s no elevator, which was difficult with my mobility issues.

The rooms were clean, though smaller than rooms at other hotels I’ve stayed in. Staff were really unfriendly and unaccommodating. Even simple requests got a snarl and attitude.

The breakfast was the best I’ve had at Choice Hotels, with a great range of food. As a Choice member, I usually stay at Quality and Comfort Inns, and the clean room and comfortable bed and pillows were what I’d expect. The breakfast really stood out.
