Highgarden B&B

Hazel's breakfasts were phenomenal, delicious and nutritious, and you can tell she loves cooking. Bill and Hazel were warm, chatty and helpful, with suggestions for places to see, things to do and somewhere to eat. They really made us feel at home. The Highgarden B&B is in a lovely spot, with a beautiful garden and bright, happy decor. The rooms were cozy, clean and nicely appointed. My teenage granddaughter and I spent three great days on Salt Spring Island and both had a wonderful time. I chose the B&B after reading the online reviews, and they were right. I've stayed at other B&Bs, but this one takes the prize, hands down. We'll spread the word and will definitely return.

The breakfasts were homemade, generous and amazing every day, including Hazel's wonderful granola. They happily worked around my gluten-free diet and my husband's allergies to canola oil and potatoes, and even had a toaster reserved for gluten-free guests. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with a cozy bed and useful things like cutlery, tea and coffee, dish cloths and a fridge. I appreciated the good quality bedding, towels, natural toiletries and even the eye makeup remover. The hosts were personable and interesting, shared plenty of funny stories, and gave us nice ideas for places to visit. The house sits in a lovely garden with a pond and fire pit, and we could use the garden, patio barbecue and laundry facilities. It's close to Ganges as well as wineries and hiking trails. I highly recommend this B&B.

Clean, comfortable, welcoming, and good food. Hazel makes everything by hand and serves it fresh, especially the breakfast. Bill and Hazels B&B is highly recommended. If you're heading to Salt Spring, stay here. I'll be back!

Bill and Hazel were friendly and helpful the whole time, and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. If we make it back to Salt Spring Island, we'd look forward to staying here again.
