173 High Street

We left the car parked for our whole visit since the restaurants, pubs, multi purpose trails, and beach are all within walking distance. Lisa and Paul are terrific hosts who go above and beyond. The rooms are beautifully finished, and both the beds and chairs are exceptionally comfortable. The big patio was a lovely place to sit in the sun. They also provide coffee, tea, real cream and milk, ice, water, and locally sourced soaps and lotions, plus handy bike storage. Such a fabulous find. We’ll definitely plan another visit.

Lisa made us feel right at home, and the room was so clean. The bed had the best linens I’ve ever felt, and the huge bathroom came with a fridge and great coffee. I also appreciated the reusable containers for the bathroom and kitchen supplies, which helped cut down on waste. They even left us a big bag with beach towels and a blanket. Parking was easy, and the location was great. We’ll be back.

We loved how central 173 Highstreet is, with restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby and the beach an easy walk away. Lisa was kind and welcoming, and the little details she took care of made our conversations with her a nice part of the stay. Our suite was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The bedding was so comfortable we decided to order the pillows. We’re already looking forward to coming back in summer!

This was my third visit to 173 High Street, and it’s become my annual trip from TO to SH. I’ve come on my own and with family, and every time it feels like the perfect place to be. It’s right in the heart of town, across from excellent restaurants and leisure services, and just steps from the Lake Huron beaches. I love the beach, the great restaurants like Highview and Room 797, and this year I also enjoyed the wonderful Spa @ Re:Mind Wellness. There are lovely nature walks and bike rides too. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, and clean, with distinctive rooms that are carefully decorated and a magnificent patio. Lisa, the manager, is kind, professional, and amazing. Thanks, Paul and Lisa, for your warm, professional service and wonderful Hotel. I’m grateful, and already can’t wait for next summer!
