Sunny Motel

The bed was really comfortable, and we made the best of our weekend away, but we won’t be coming back. It was our first getaway in a while without the kid and dog, and the room cost us $423 for two nights. It wasn’t worth that. The room was clean apart from the spiders, which seemed to be getting in through the unsealed door and the open hole where the AC drained through the wall. The outlets had painter’s tape over them. There was no garbage can, and the door’s security lock was like the one I use on my outdoor gate. The area outside our room, up on the check-in roof, felt intimidating, like we might fall through. The room we got looked very dated compared with the suite picture we booked. The TV wasn’t working when we arrived, then someone showed up at 9:30 at night to install a new one, which was both helpful and awkward. I’d recommend asking to see the room before paying, since we weren’t really given the chance.

The place was disgusting, nothing like the other reviews had made it sound. There was mismatched furniture, random children’s stickers everywhere, dirt, and a strong cigarette smell. My family and I came to stay the night before heading home, but it was too filthy for us to stay. They wouldn’t refund us, even though the place wasn’t fully booked and nothing had been done to the room. If you can, spend extra for somewhere nicer.

The owner was honestly the best, so lovely and nice that I can’t say anything bad about her. But the bed made the stay awful. It felt like sleeping on a kitchen table, and after two nights I was glad to leave. The room itself was very small, so don’t plan on having company, and the bathroom was tiny too. There were odd brown paint marks on the mirror and lots of holes in the walls. The owner is the only reason I didn’t rate it lower. A medium-soft mattress would make this a much better place.

We needed a room at the last minute for the night, and they were very accommodating and courteous. The rooms are small but clean, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was great for the price.
