The room was clean and comfortable, and the owner was very friendly. I arrived on a very hot day with the A/C off, but it cooled the room within a couple of hours. The outside was the one drawback: the lot is small, with garbage around the edges and trash on the tiny patch of grass for the dogs. I know the area isn't the best and there's questionable pedestrian traffic that likely contributes to the mess. Still, I'd stay again in Sault with my pups.

We stayed twice, going to and coming back from Calgary. The owners are absolutely lovely, and service was incredible. Both visits were for the clean, comfortable rooms and the dog-friendly option. The location has easy access to the trans Canada highway, with a grocery store across the street for travel snacks.

I needed a clean, pet-friendly stop on my two-day drive from Toronto to Thunder Bay to visit family, and Catalina Motel fit. I'm back here now for the trip home. My room has the essentials: tub and shower, a fridge with freezer, cable, microwave, and Keurig with coffee pods. There are plenty of nearby food options and a small strip mall with a Metro grocery store. I'd recommend Catalina Motel to travellers with or without pets.

They greeted me promptly and warmly even though I arrived late, and were accommodating about my cat. The room was clean, fresh-smelling, and stocked with what we needed, with only very minor wear. The walls are thin, so keep the noise down. The floor-to-ceiling windows made me a little nervous, though the doors felt heavy and solid.
