Pines Motel

The front desk staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely helpful, including with recommendations for local food. At Pines Motel in Sicamous, our room was cute, a good size, and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable, and it was so quiet that we slept really well. I’d absolutely stay here again.

The bathroom was exceptional, and the room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The owners made us feel very welcome.

Edit: The owner’s claims that we were “screaming and yelling, stepping on the sheets and vandalizing” are false. Since posting this, I’ve also heard unsettling stories, so please be careful about booking here. My photos showed what the room actually looked like, not an attempt to make it look bad. The owner’s response to this review, and their replies on booking.com, only reinforced how unprofessional they are. They don’t seem able to accept negative feedback or complaints about the rooms. We stayed in August. The room wasn’t very clean, but we tried to overlook that. On the first night, I couldn’t sleep because the sheets smelled. The next morning the owner came over outside to ask how things were. We politely said it was good, though we weren’t sure the sheets had been changed. He offered to change the bedding and chatted with us for about 10 minutes. He seemed lovely. We went out for the day, then got a text telling us to leave because we had supposedly claimed the room wasn’t clean. A woman called us and was furiously angry, threatening to put our belongings outside and call the police. This was all over a bedding change. After we got her to calm down, and she’d hung up on us four times, we agreed to check out by 4pm. When I asked why we were being kicked out after the man offered to change the bedding, she said he wouldn’t lie to her or offer that. They were angry that we’d stripped the bed to save them a step, and, as the comment below says, called it vandalism. She swore at us as we left. I’d never experienced anything like this and was pretty shaken. The owner was barefoot when he checked us in, and people were drinking and smoking right outside our room all night. There were extension cords everywhere for the power supply, and what looked like blood stains on the wall behind the bed. Please avoid this place. If you do stay, don’t mention any problems with the room when they ask, or you may have to find somewhere else.

After a long drive, the clean, comfortable room was a good spot to recharge. I had a lovely interaction during a very late, last-minute check-in. The gentleman at reception was kind and had a great sense of humor.
