Best Western Smiths Falls Hotel

The location is handy, but after several visits over the years, it seems the building isn't being looked after as well as it used to be. The restaurant that was once great now serves basic food, and there's a shortage of staff. We booked a room with two beds but were given a one-bed room. We'll try somewhere else next time we're in Smiths Falls.

We came for a women's hockey tournament in Smith Falls. The rooms looked nice and clean, and check-in seemed smooth, but the service from Ruth at the front desk was awful. She was cold and rude every time we dealt with her. We asked about late checkout for a couple of rooms to fit the hockey schedule, and she bluntly said, “No, I think we're fully booked,” without checking. It was Sunday, so I don't buy that. I won't return, and I'll be telling people to avoid this place.

The front desk staff were friendly, and breakfast and coffee were good. Plenty of fast food and grocery options are just a two-minute walk away. The room was clean, updated, and good value.

It was more comfortable and well run than I expected. My room was spotless, and the hardwood floors were a nice touch for avoiding bad odors and allergies.
