The Sands

We’ve stayed twice recently, first for a few days in February 2026 with many feet of snow on the ground, then for a shorter visit this month, April 2026. The beds were so comfortable that I was really well rested, and I wish we’d had more time. Our room was spacious, very clean, bright, and had a beautiful view over the beach. The colours give it an upbeat beach feel. My daughter was especially impressed by the kitchen, which was better stocked with supplies and utensils than any hotel room kitchen we’ve seen. The staff were very friendly. We’ll be back!

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday here, and the room was beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed. Both women at reception were cheerful, informative, and so helpful. An absolutely incredible stay. I’ll definitely come back.

The location is stunning, and the room is huge, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and unbelievably kind while helping us with a water issue. The hotel is working on resolving it. We visited in the off season, so it should be sorted in the next few weeks. Parking is a bit tight, so keep that in mind if you have a larger vehicle. The water problem is the only reason I gave four stars, and it wouldn’t put me off staying here.

Waking up to the beach view was wonderful. Every room has a balcony with lounge chairs, perfect for watching the sunset. The Sands is the only beachfront hotel in Sauble, with the beach a one-minute walk away. The water was clear and the sand stretches on for ages. Shops and restaurants are nearby, and the hotel has one restaurant on the main floor and another on the roof. Even with everything close by, noise wasn’t an issue and we slept really well. We chose The Sands for my husband’s 40th birthday, and the team made the occasion special for both of us. They decorated the room with rose petals, a birthday card, and a bottle of champagne on the house. We arrived later than planned, but they still refreshed the ice so it would be chilled for us. You can tell they put their hearts into making guests feel comfortable. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with a coastal feel. Ours had a full kitchen with a fridge, oven, coffee maker, and barstools. There was a decent selection at the free breakfast, and beachgoers can pick up a towel on the way out and return it for cleaning later. The common areas are lovely too, with outdoor seating for meals and a rooftop lounge with stunning views. Janice, Jeff, and all the staff were incredibly friendly. From booking through check-in and check-out, everything was smooth and easy. We’re already planning another trip, and this may become a family tradition.
