Blue On Water

I recently ate here with a friend, and the standout was the service. All four servers we interacted with were friendly and full of energy. They seemed to genuinely enjoy chatting with guests and working there. We liked the food too, and can't wait to come back.

We've been to BOW often and usually enjoy it, and we always celebrate our anniversary here. But at our fifth anniversary dinner, a mouse came from the kitchen into the dining area and got very close to our table just as the mains arrived. We were so grossed out that we stopped eating immediately. The staff first seemed to brush it off, which made things worse. They gave us a partial discount, but still charged us for food we couldn't eat. It was upsetting and disgusting, and completely ruined our anniversary. We won't be returning.

The burger disappeared before I could even take a photo, it was that delicious! The food and beer were really good, and our waitress was smiley, kind and helpful. Service was great and the atmosphere relaxed. It was a bit expensive for my budget, though I felt it was worth it. I just wish there were a couple more main dishes to choose from.

I had a lovely dinner and enjoyed myself, with Sarah providing exemplary service. I spent over $110 as a solo diner, so I was surprised when the manager, Sully, pulled Sarah away to serve another table. It felt like he saw me as “chopped liver” because I was by myself. Without that interruption, this would have been a review beyond five stars. I'm not sure whether Sully is new to hospitality or simply doesn't care about customers' experiences, whether they're dining alone or not. I hope to return when he's not there. Sorry, Sully, but perhaps another industry would suit you better, my friend.
