Ramada by Wyndham St. Paul AB

I was booked for two queen beds, but was put in a room with one king. I stayed for three weeks, and the supposed closet was just a few hangers and a shelf too high for me to reach. I went back to explain the booking. Kein was the only helpful person during my stay. There were no microwaves in the rooms, and you had to request one without any guarantee of getting one, but Kein brought one for me. The front desk was often empty. I had to use the hall phone to call staff out of their little room, even though being at the desk is their job. They also made a second reservation for me without my knowledge, then cancelled it during the second week without telling or emailing me. When I asked, they said they didn’t know where it came from, though it came from their official email. It took a whole day to figure out they had made a duplicate booking. Most of the staff seemed unsure what they were doing. I saw the manager crying and staff distressed. Breakfast was awful. At the end of the first week, I asked for housekeeping before going home, but they didn’t clean because I had a DND sign, which I understand. After that, they still never cleaned the table where I ate. For two weeks all they did was change the sheets and towels. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Ramada. Kiehn at reception welcomed us warmly and was friendly and helpful. We liked how attentive he was to details and how he made sure we had a great visit. Highly recommended!

There was a stain on the bed sheets in the morning. It wasn’t from us, and I hadn’t noticed it when I got into bed. When I raised it with staff, they basically said they’d look into it. We’d done the online “expedited check-in” and sent my driver’s license and credit card information, but they asked me for it again on arrival. I explained that I’d already submitted it, but got nowhere. I also couldn’t get a working fridge or microwave, the shower head fell apart while my wife was using it, and the towels were on a shelf so high she needed help reaching them. Staff didn’t seem to care when I mentioned these problems. I’ll never stay here again, and I don’t know how it got a 4.4 Google rating.

Everything else was decent, and the newer hotel was clean with good service and an okay breakfast. The problem was that none of the elevators worked. I had to carry my large suitcase up three flights and back down again the next morning.
