Best Western Plus The Arden Park Hotel

The king suite was fabulous, with plenty of space, a great bathroom, and a big comfy couch. The pool was clean, warm, and quiet. We also ordered restaurant food to pick up, and it was good value. My friend and I had a winter mini vacation here and enjoyed everything.

There were 27 of us booked for lunch on Wednesday, and we were warmly welcomed at two long tables already set with everything, including jugs of ice water. At table 2, Deb looked after the 14 of us with friendly, efficient, accommodating service. We chose quite a range of dishes, and the drinks, food, and bills were all correct. Deb clearly takes pride in serving good food and providing outstanding customer service.

Emma, the front desk manager, was fantastic when we ran into an issue with hotel planners. She stuck with it, communicated clearly, followed up, and got us a refund for one night of our three-night booking after we cancelled that night. I couldn’t be more impressed with her help. The hotel is very nice, the staff are helpful, and the location is perfect for visiting Stratford. Call the hotel directly rather than using hotel planners.

The next morning, when I asked about compensation, I was met with indifference and had the note from the night before read back to me. If the hotel won’t offer anything when this happens, staff shouldn’t suggest it. The attendant set me up for disappointment, and that was frustrating. The hotel should train staff properly so guests aren’t left expecting something that won’t happen. My family booked two rooms on Nov 22. When we returned from our event around midnight, my daughter spotted a bug on her bed. It turned out to be a silverfish, which isn’t dangerous, but it’s still not something you expect in a room. Someone came up right away, agreed it was a silverfish, and offered to see if another room was available. Since it was late, and neither of us wanted her in a room away from us, my daughter chose to stay where she was. She wasn’t happy about the bug, though. The person said they’d leave a note on our file so we could request compensation. The buffet the next day was fine, but my server’s sleeve touched my food while she leaned across to hand my son his drink, holding the glass by its rim. If anyone thinks I complain just to complain, they can check my other reviews. I’d say 99% are positive.
