The Quarterdeck Resort

We went walking on the beach more than once, even in February, and we're already thinking about coming back next year. The Guest House worked really well for our group, and we all enjoyed our meal at The Grill. Every one of us was happy with the food and the wait staff. The office and maintenance staff were pleasant and helpful, too. Just a couple of small ideas: hooks for towels or robes near the hot tub, and mats by the deck entrances for winter footwear.

That long stretch of white sandy beach makes the two-hour drive from Halifax worthwhile. We were in two-bedroom Seawood suites, with two suites booked for our small group attending a nearby wedding. They were comfortable, and having a kitchen was handy. The restaurant was another highlight, with really good service and well-prepared, elevated dishes. I'd come back just for the delicious seafood chowder. One thing that bothered me: a few minutes before the firm 11am checkout, cleaning staff abruptly made the guests in the neighboring suite leave while they were already loading suitcases into their car. I hope that practice improves, as I'd like to visit again soon.

The view and atmosphere made our Valentine's dinner at The Grill feel special, and the food and service were spectacular. We went with our two kids and were so pleased with the whole experience. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

We were happy with the comfortable rooms and those cozy plush robes, perfect for lounging. Listening to the tides come and go beside the snow-covered beach made it feel like Christmas was on its way. I was disappointed that we couldn't settle in and binge-watch our show, since there was no smart TV and cable had very few channels. Breakfast on Sunday was another letdown: after our 11am checkout, lunch was all that was available, and we weren't ready for that. We thought brunch would be served until the 2pm closing time. Still, it was a lovely stay.
