I’ve been coming since 2000, and it’s still one of my favourite beaches ever. It’s never been overcrowded on my visits, and I’ve always loved this place.

The park is lovely in the evening sun, with a sandy beach and forest around it. There are basic facilities like outhouses, BBQs, and fire pits. Sunny days from June through September can get busy, though it’s quiet the rest of the year. Dogs are welcome on leash. Water quality is monitored because the beach is downstream from Nelson's sewage treatment, and any problems are posted publicly in the parking lot.

Really nice beach! There aren’t many places to get some shade, though.

Gorgeous spot for swimming or water sports, and just as good for lounging on the beach in the sun.

A great place to get together with family or friends, with one of the best beaches around. There’s a volleyball net and outdoor grills if you want to cook. Since it’s downstream from the sewer treatment center, pay attention to health warnings about swimming.
