They’re always accommodating to truckers. I’m through here every other week, and even when I don’t need anything, I’ll stop in, buy a few things, and support the place. We drivers really appreciate the service you provide.

The little store was handy, and it was nice to be able to get premium gas there. I stayed on 8/8/25 and found the motel very clean, even cleaner than the Holiday Inn Express I’d stayed at farther south a couple of nights earlier. I’d definitely stay here again when passing through.

The general store was nice, but the motel was the worst place we stayed during our eight-day hotel trip. After a six-hour drive, we just wanted to sleep. In room 23 there was no power, the sink water was brown, a lamp was held together with tape, and the room smelled strongly of chemicals. When I raised it with staff, they seemed unaware of what was happening in the motel. They moved us to room 24, where the water was still brown. At least it had a mini fridge and a used bucket for ice, but the chemical smell remained. We didn’t even try to get under the sheets and slept in our clothes. The satellite TV wasn’t set up, either, and staff offered no solution or workaround when I mentioned it. Stay at the Yukon hotel instead.

The gravel lot is a useful option for RVs: they officially allow overnight parking, with an “RV park” sign outside the store. It’s just a large gravel area by the store and road, with no hookups or other amenities. As far as I know, you need permission from the store employees to stay, and it’s free. There wasn’t much road noise or traffic at night. The lot is fairly close to the Alaskan border and to a quaint nearby town whose name I’ve forgotten. It has historic old buildings, a nice Western food restaurant, an art gallery, and the preserved remains of an old steamboat ship. The place is also relatively close to the small Carcross desert. The business is basically a reasonably well stocked large gas station and small general store, the kind you see in rural parts of the Yukon, and there’s an RV park too. The staff were as friendly and professional as you could expect at a gas station and general store. The only issue was that it was obvious they were New Canadians who spoke English as a second or learned language. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t speak from experience about the motel. From the Trip Advisor and their own website reviews, it sounds like a pleasant enough, decent, ordinary eight-room motel. I don’t know much about the restaurant either, but as far as I know it serves basic decent food like hamburgers and sandwiches.

The diesel pump’s auto shutoff doesn’t work, so fuel overflowed onto the ground. With the price they charge, a spill gets expensive as well as messy. We also couldn’t get propane when we first tried, despite it being advertised. They said it might be available later that afternoon. And we couldn’t get or buy water for our truck camper.
