Rooms were clean, though I had to ask the front desk for soap and other supplies. Plenty of guests seemed upset, and there was nobody available to discuss their stay or complaints. The gym is laughable. Showers had weak pressure, but the water temperature was good. The wait for the “free” breakfast was incredibly long. They asked us to order with the front desk the night before, but the person serving food in the morning didn't have the order, and what they offered didn't match the reception list. The office staff were polite but seemed confused. The lobby is a small, crowded room. They said the hotel was full, but the lot was nearly empty, which felt like more profiteering alongside the high room prices. The place is being renovated, and it seems they've pocketed profits for years without putting them into upgrades. The internet kept cutting out and the TV lost its signal.

Staff were friendly and accommodating, and I liked being able to park right outside a first-floor room and use its sliding door to get in. The rooms were decent. The hotel is still being renovated, so I'd like to come back after the work is finished. When I first walked into my room, it smelled strongly of a bonfire. I don't know if that came from the air conditioning. I'd recommend the place if you just need somewhere to sleep after a long drive or a day at Canada's Wonderland, about 10 minutes down the road.

The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice, and Violet, who looked after it, was spectacular. It was a lovely way to start the day. Nicki on the day shift was friendly too. Check-in went smoothly, and the night clerk Etka was especially personable and kind. The room was good, and the overall value was solid. Carrying luggage upstairs is a little awkward since there's no elevator, though ground-floor rooms are available. Customer service was excellent.

I've stayed here many times, and the rooms usually look clean at first, but the housekeeping needs to be much more thorough. I bring cleaning products with me. If the bed looks untouched, I worry the sheets haven't been changed. A few times I've found stains on the sheets and comforter, though staff fixed those issues quickly. The bathroom isn't cleaned properly either. Curtains are often dusty or stained, and there are old cobwebs in the room. The carpet smells musty most of the time and doesn't seem to get cleaned enough for the amount of foot traffic. It needs regular shampooing. They really need to give the place a proper deep clean on a regular basis.
