The café was a highlight for me, with excellent coffee and a nice sitting area to relax in. I also appreciated the gluten-free breakfast choices, which made things easier. My room was small, but very clean, thoughtfully laid out, and well equipped. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, so I slept really well. Union Hotel is at 60 York Street, right in the heart of Toronto. It’s a convenient location if you’re arriving by train or exploring downtown, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Stylish and comfortable, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The location is great, but nearby hotels offer much better value for everything else. A cleaner in the lobby was really helpful when my wife left her sweater at a table. By the time she came back downstairs, it was already bagged and waiting at the front desk. The room had a lot of annoyances. The sink only gave full pressure if you turned it sideways and then back to the middle, and there was barely space for toiletries in the bathroom. The doors were very heavy, there was nowhere for my wife and me to sit and eat, and one bedside USB charger didn’t work. The garbage cans were tiny. Bedding meant either a heavy duvet or paper-thin sheets, nothing in between. The elevators made a terrifying amount of noise passing floors 7-8.

The Union Hotel staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and everyone was accommodating. The lobby and rooms were spotless, modern, and chic. We had an excellent location for walking around or catching the subway. Our stay surpassed what we expected, and we’d definitely recommend the hotel. Thanks to everyone at the Union Hotel for making us feel so welcome.

The smoked salmon avocado toast at breakfast is worth ordering. This adorable hotel is great value, with cute decor, a nice gym, super showers, comfy beds, and friendly, helpful staff. It’s also really handy for Union Station.

Union Train Station is very close, which made getting around convenient, and the front desk team were genuinely top notch, always nice and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was a welcome, decent bonus. The TV stopped working but maintenance fixed it quickly. The fridge, though, didn’t work and some food we’d stored in it was lost.
