Days Inn by Wyndham Toronto East Lakeview

The room carpet really brought the stay down. It needed attention, had an uncomfortable smell nearby, and left our feet dirty when we walked on it. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, breakfast was enjoyable, and they kindly let me stay an extra hour.

We kept running into problems, and each room change seemed to bring another one. The first bathroom overflowed, and staff cleaned it with old towels from another room instead of offering us a different room. When we chose to move, the sheets were still badly stained. We left for a day to stay elsewhere, then came back hoping for better. The next room had a centipede on the bed and cockroaches. After another move, the bathroom was disgusting, and the air conditioning control was broken. The sheets were stained in every room, and it didn't feel like they were cleaned at all. Our key kept failing after a few hours, so we had to get it replaced. At one point both cards stopped working, and the woman at reception got angry when I came back yet again to sort it out. Avoid this place even if it's cheap. You'll regret staying here.

The location worked well for what I needed, but this place feels very worn out and needs renovating. Breakfast was... interesting. My room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes, and when I reported it, staff showed little interest. I only had one night and didn't push the issue. The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were tiny and hard, and I slept poorly with that smell. If you have to stay in this area, I'd probably spend my money somewhere else.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice, and I'd stay here again. It's not a luxury hotel, so a few things could use cosmetic repairs, and the lobby is due for an update. I was a little wary after reading some reviews, but ended up pleasantly surprised. I wasn't planning to spend time in the lobby anyway, and I had no complaints overall.
