Global Guest House

The building was quiet, and my room was warm and clean. I was there for two nights with a colleague while we attended a conference nearby. It was my first visit, though she had stayed several times. A decent option if you’re visiting from out of town.

The location was great, but there were bedbugs in our bed. Over our four-night stay we noticed more and more bites, and they weren’t mosquito bites. We left for another hotel on the fourth night and got a refund for the final night. They handled that okay, but all those itchy bites made the rest of the trip pretty miserable.

Our reservation was lost, so don’t book here. We’d reserved a month ahead for our vacation by phone because the front desk guy said parking could only be booked that way. I would’ve preferred a secure website, but we got an email confirmation. After driving nine hours from the States and crossing an international border, we arrived to find they’d given our room away.

The rooms are cozy and have some personality, and the place has a tea room with a hostel-like feel for guests and travelers. Antonio was attentive, friendly, and a huge help.
