After 20 years of staying at B&Bs, this one is right at the top for cleanliness, service, and friendliness. I'd go out of my way to visit Toronto just to relax here. Thumbs up! I arrived late Saturday without a booking at Inverness for that night. The proprietor said coming in late would be no problem. Elizabeth greeted me around 11 Sunday morning. My room was spotless, with a clean bathroom, no smells, and no issues. She wasn't chatty, but was there to answer questions. I left around 11:45 and returned at 8:30. It was completely quiet, with total privacy, a very hot shower, clean towels, and fresh bedding. Breakfast was great every day. On my third morning I ordered the whole-grain pancakes again. They were delicious with real maple syrup.

Elizabeth, the owner, made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived at Inverness B and B. Having her company at breakfast was pleasant, and the organic pancakes were delicious. The place is clean, eco-friendly, and conveniently located in Toronto. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

I'm not sure why this place gets such high scores. I'd give it 2/5. It doesn't feel like a three-star hotel at all. The room is small, and using the shower means stepping into a tiny bathtub and trying not to lose your balance. There's no shared area to relax or work, and no TV or fridge. You can't control the room temperature either. I couldn't sleep one night because it was so hot, and had to ask for air conditioning the next morning. We were told to leave before 9 a.m. because the owner needed to show the house to a realtor. That's unheard of. I also didn't feel any hospitality. The owner yelled at our kids just for running on the stairs in the middle of the day. Very rude. Avoid it at all costs. I'd give it 1/5, but the location earns that extra point.

I've been a few times over the years and wouldn't stay anywhere else. I love the food and the atmosphere, and Elizabeth is such a warm, welcoming person. A must-stay!

Quiet, well appointed, and in a great location. It's a lovely home, and the proprietor is lovely too. I'd definitely recommend this B&B.
