Mason C.
I couldn’t find anywhere else during a summer weekend in Toronto, so I stayed, then asked for part of the cost back and was refused. This used to be a nice place for travellers, but now it feels like a flop house. You can pay only in cash, and apparently no one asks for your name or ID. The house smelled strongly of marijuana, and there were odd people knocking on my door late at night. The room had tiny bugs, maybe a mouse, and dirt and rubbish under the bed and beside the armoire. One pillowcase and the comforter smelled like someone who was homeless had slept on them. The door handle was nearly falling off, and some of the people staying there seemed very sketchy. There was no soap in the bathroom. Another guest filled an empty dish soap bottle with watered down Dawn so there’d be something to wash your hands with. The bedroom smoke detectors had been removed, and there were none at all on the top floor. Just horrible. Go somewhere else if you can.
