The kitchenette is handy, especially with a grocery store down the street, and it can save money on food. The room was nice and close to downtown, with an affordable price. I didn’t sleep well, though. The air conditioning and fridge were both really noisy, and the appliances seemed well worn. The pillows were half the usual size, there weren’t many, and they gave no support. The sheets were soft but too light for me, and there weren’t extra ones in the room like I’ve found at other places. For the price, I still had a positive impression, but I can’t give it four stars after such a poor night’s sleep.

The kitchenette was a welcome extra, with enough plates, cutlery and glasses for a stay. The room was cozy and much nicer than I expected, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty standard, though the shower pressure was a little low. The windows don’t have screens, which didn’t bother me, but might be a problem for guests with young kids. There’s no option with two Queen beds, so keep that in mind. The staff were the friendliest I’ve ever encountered at a hotel, and they made both check-in and checkout smooth. Seeing the price, I’d expected a disorganized mess, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We needed a clean, quiet place to sleep while visiting downtown Toronto, and this worked perfectly. The room was small but comfortable, and the bed was good. It looked recently remodeled, with everything fresh and clean. Given the price, we’d been a little nervous at first, but felt comfortable there. The front desk man was polite, friendly and answered our questions. The hotel itself was clean and quiet, though the lobby and main floor looked a bit dated and could use a refresh. The air conditioner was VERY loud. It was a window unit, though, and we’re just not used to that at home. We’ve bookmarked the hotel and will look it up if we need somewhere to stay in Toronto again.

The room had a comfortable bed, a big fridge and a useful kitchenette with prep space, knives, pots and pans. It’s a renovated apartment building from the 70s or 80s, so the elevator is old and there aren’t many extras like a pool. The room itself was nicely updated, with just some scuffed paint on the walls to complain about. It’s a little small, but would suit a longer stay, especially with restaurants and Garden View nearby for food. The location is a strong point: it’s a mid-range hotel near Kensington Market, Chinatown and Queen Street. Parking was a great deal at $15. If you’re not driving, the streetcar stop at August a Ave is a short walk away. I didn’t interact much with staff, but check-in was friendly and the place was clean. It’s a good downtown option if you don’t need many hotel extras. I’d consider it for a longer visit if I wanted to eat in and live there briefly.

I liked the price, and the room had plenty of space, a nice kitchenette, full-size fridge and freezer, and the cutlery and pots needed for cooking. The bathroom was clean and everything worked properly. But the ceiling showed clear signs of water damage, the room smelled a bit like stale cigarettes, and one garbage bin still had old food in it when I arrived. The bed was below average for comfort, though I know bed softness is a matter of preference. The pillows were awful, all clumpy, like they’d been washed and dried. I was hoping the kitchenette would make this a good place for a longer stay, but I need decent sleep, and the bed and smell put me off completely.
