The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto

The one thing that concerned me was the bathroom sink water, which came out grey and cloudy. Apart from that, I wasn’t disappointed with Westin. The rooms were nice, the lobby looked magnificent, and the pool was good too. The cleaning and front desk staff did such a great job, they should be paid more. I came for business elsewhere and found this a really pleasant place. I don’t just want to come back, I NEED to.

Booking and check-in were both easy, and the instructions came in advance so everything was ready. We got free coffee too. I stayed with my family while they were visiting Canada, and we had an amazing view from the building, including the water and the airport. We were close to downtown without it feeling loud or noisy, a nice balance of city and nature.

Our lake-view room was beautiful and relaxing, and we enjoyed the stay. The hotel does feel a little aged, but that didn’t get in the way. The pool and gym were great to have, the breakfast restaurant had a good variety of food, and the valet service was decent.

We really liked the large, quiet pool during our Sunday-to-Tuesday stay, and the family and games room was fun to explore. The hotel is beautiful and well located, with a clean, gorgeous room overlooking the water, very comfortable beds, and a crib brought quickly for the baby. The drinking water faucet beside the sink was a lovely touch I hadn’t seen in a hotel before. The elevators, though, caused a serious problem. The one on our floor was out for most of our stay, so we used the gritty service elevator, which took ages to arrive. The front desk seemed unaware when we raised it. Later that elevator broke too, leaving us stuck on our floor. We had a double stroller and couldn’t manage 20 flights of stairs, so we called a staff member for help. The whole delay made us late for our Ripley’s aquarium visit. When we reported it again, the front desk just said it was out of their control. It really put a damper on what was otherwise a beautiful hotel.
