There were pastries, fruit, and coffee left outside our door in the morning, and we ended up checking out later than planned. My husband and I were only here for one night for a music event, though I wish we'd booked two nights and had time to visit George and Secrette. Room Four was lovely, with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. It was raining, unfortunately, but the big soaker tub, comfortable bed, robes, bath salts, and small take-home salt bags made the room feel like a spa. The staff welcomed us, showed us around the beautiful, maze-like building and its interesting rooms, including a reading room, then took us to our room. It felt more like a private rental than a hotel, but with exceptional hotel service. This will be our go-to place when we're back in the city.
We didn't use the amenities since we were only staying overnight for a musical within walking distance. There's no parking on site, so expect to pay as much as $50. Unfortunately, that's common with most Toronto hotels. The room was beautifully decorated and a good size, and we liked the quality of the king mattress. The bathroom was gorgeous and had several bath salts. Breakfast arrived at the scheduled 8 a.m. with croissants, a cinnamon roll, yogurt, granola, and fruit. We'd filled in a form with our allergies and preferences, including my request for almond milk because I'm lactose intolerant. They forgot the milk, and despite us mentioning the intolerance, they still served yogurt. Still, we enjoyed the stay.
Quiet and distinctive, with a little balcony facing the courtyard. The rooms are huge, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is a dream. This is a stunning boutique hotel with excellent customer service, one of the best places I've stayed.
The little details made our stay: a sommelier brought Chianti to our room and told us where it came from, and the roomy bathroom had a bath-salt menu with eucalyptus, rosemary, and lavender for a relaxing soak. Breakfast in the room came with fresh coffee, pastries, yoghurt, and fruit, and there was a 24-hour concierge ready to help. The Ivy at Verity is a European-inspired boutique hotel right downtown at Queen + Jarvis. It has just four beautifully furnished rooms, each with its own look. Highly recommend it for a romantic city break or a treat for yourself. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Breakfast was simple and really good, and we slept like a dream on the comfortable bed with soft pillows. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with lovely, thoughtfully done design. We truly loved this fantastic boutique hotel and highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back!
