Glenwood Motel

After a 10-hour drive to town, I didn’t expect to feel uncomfortable and unsafe in my room. It was small, and the condition of the facilities made the price feel completely unjustified. A room change was offered, but that wouldn’t address the wider concerns about sanitation and the property. I’m very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to other travellers. This is far below the hospitality standard I expect, and I hope the matter is taken seriously and addressed. I’ve stayed in countless hotels over the years, so this was among my most disappointing experiences. After checking in and settling in briefly, I went to the swimming area. The hot tub water was noticeably discoloured compared with the indoor pool. Near the pool I also saw what looked like mouse droppings, and movement in the rafters above. I raised these health and safety concerns at the front desk, but they were brushed off as unimportant, which was deeply unsettling. Concerned about my health and safety, I contacted Booking.com about my reservation. They said they needed to speak with the property and couldn’t say whether I could cancel until they’d spoken to management. Soon after, the front desk called and said they also wouldn’t know until morning, after speaking with the owners. That left me unable to arrange other accommodation for peace of mind without risking being charged twice.
