The Water's Edge Inn

The whole stay felt easy and relaxing, with downtown close enough to walk to and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Our room was clean, the bed was nice, and the canal view was lovely. The people were great, too, and the place had a real hometown feel. Do stop by Dockside Bistro. Simone was an outstanding server. We had such a good time and will be back at the Waters Edge Inn.

For a motorcycle trip, this was an ideal base. It’s a five star motel by Campbellford standards: unpretentious, affordable, and lovely. There are only 10 rooms. The five in a separate building sit right on the water; the other five are by the parking lot, attached to the main building where the owners live. If available, I’d ask for a waterfront room, 201 through 205. Room 205 is the end unit and my pick of the bunch. Each room has AC, a big TV with Roku and cable, a microwave, Keurig, and mini fridge. They replenished the coffee and water daily, along with two Dad's oatmeal cookies. Context matters when judging a hotel in Campbellford. You can’t hold it to the same standards as a New York City hotel. Highly recommended.

We’ve stayed at the Water’s Edge Inn in Campbellford several times and enjoyed coming back. The river’s quiet beauty makes for a restful getaway, and we’ve valued having private patios to spend time on. The rooms are comfortable, with scenic views along the Trent Canal and modern amenities.

The view from the table and chairs by the window was beautiful, and the room had thoughtful touches everywhere: wine glasses and a corkscrew, USB ports by the bed, a cloth for the coffee setup, water by the coffee maker, and fresh half and half in the little fridge. There was even a small bottle of mouthwash. The original artwork and burgundy drape added a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, with high quality linens. Aman was waiting when I arrived late, with my room information and a gracious welcome. Housekeeping were delightful and helpful. The room was absolutely spotless, and that kind of cleanliness makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. This little gem in Campbellford made my visit a joy. It feels skillfully managed, with care and personal commitment.
