The homemade breakfasts were fantastic. The first morning we had fresh French toast, bacon, and fruit; the next, fresh croissants with yogurt and fruit. Norma was the highlight of the trip for us. She was the kindest person we've met in NL, incredibly hardworking, and so good to us. We adored her and think she deserves a raise. If she had been at the front desk or checking on us each day, our stay would have been so much better. We booked a room with two beds but were given one instead. We'd driven and hiked all day in rain and wind, and were exhausted and soaked when we arrived. They were sold out, so apparently it was that room or nothing. The administrator was in another building, a store. The woman there with the nice hair didn't seem to care about the mix-up and didn't even apologize. She acted as if talking to me about her dog was a favor, and basically wanted me to go away. There was no one in the hotel to speak with, just other guests milling around. The photo here is out of date, too, since the building has been painted. There was no A/C, and the upper floor got hot and stuffy in summer, with no air circulation in the 200-year-old building. The wall-mounted blow dryer was useless, with no force at all, and it was too hot to use without A/C and decent airflow. The last night we ran out of toilet paper and couldn't find anyone to ask for more, so we used Kleenex. The shower lever was broken, sending half the water into the tub instead of up to the shower spout, and there wasn't enough pressure to wash and rinse my hair. For us, this hotel was a mistake, even though it was in a great location and good value for money.

Trinity is such a picturesque, friendly town. The gift shop at the Erikson Premises, which has the same owner as Bishop White, is packed with beautiful local products. We stayed at Bishop White Manor during a recent trip to Newfoundland, found the staff very friendly, and would definitely come back.

We found the room immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed, plenty of space, and a roomy bathroom. The pillows were a little thin for both of us, though that's just our personal preference. There was a great deck for guests with spectacular views, plus sitting rooms and coffee and tea, which were a nice surprise. The location was great and the staff were very friendly. A hot breakfast with cold options was a lovely way to start the day. We'd recommend the Eriksen Premises & Bishop White Manor and only wish we could've stayed longer.

The village was lovely to visit and stay in for a night, and the place was really clean with very friendly staff. But it feels like a two-star property trying to be three-star. One bed creaked loudly whenever I moved. The other had loose side rails, so the corner of the box spring slipped off the track when I shifted. I wound up putting the mattress on the floor to sleep. The shower pressure was very low, and breakfast was a toasted bagel with cream cheese, yogurt, and some fruit. A bit of maintenance could raise the rating.

I loved the place and the private bathrooms. Just so you know, there's no laundry on site.
