There are tiny crabs in the tide pools and lovely heaps of crushed shells. The beach is peaceful, with covered picnic tables and little spots to sit at a table or on a log. It's a nice place to watch the sunset. You can borrow a walking stick from the eagle display and look for the shipwreck remains along the shore.

This beach is better for poking around than for a stretch of pristine sand, though there is some sand. Take your time sifting through the coarse grains and you might find some amazing little shells, along with other ocean artifacts scattered around. There are tide pools to explore too. It's a nice little beach and worth spending some time at.

The Wild Pacific Trail follows the beach, so there are great walks nearby. The west-facing shore also gives you gorgeous sunset views, and the old shipwreck from the late 1800s is interesting to explore.

The trail, geocaching, and nearby signs and trivia games for kids were well organized. I also found some cute shells, and there were locals having a weiner roast on the beach, so the stop felt worthwhile for a day trip. I'd been told May was the best time for sunset views, but it wasn't particularly good for watching the sunset.

The tide pools are all over and especially interesting at night. Bring a headlamp and good shoes or boots, and watch the tides so you don't get stranded. It's also a great spot to scramble around on the rocks by the ocean.
