My partner and I had a lovely one-night stay recently. The setting is gorgeous, with nature views all around and the soothing sound of water. Our room was comfortable, very clean, quiet, and lovely to be in. We ate at the restaurant twice and had a great experience both times. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and quick, and the service was stellar. Brunch was perfect. Thanks to the Chef for such a wonderful morning. We're already looking forward to coming back :)

We tried the full chefs menu and every dish was thoughtfully plated, with real flair. Sharing tastes from each other's plates made it tough to pick a favorite. The cocktails, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, were expertly made, and we enjoyed them by the fireplace. The restaurant is beautifully set beside the river, with tasteful decor and warm, welcoming staff. We had a wonderful welcome and meal last weekend. Great work all around, and wishing you lots of success. We'll be back.
Sitting on the patio with the river nearby made for a lovely evening. Our waiter was charming and had a great sense of humour, and the service was exceptional. His English was wonderful, while my French wasn't so much. We were staying next door at Maison Baviare and booked dinner here. It was easily the best meal of our five-day vacation riding Ptit Train Du Nord. Everything seemed house-made, and the chef is brilliant. We loved the generous portions of wild cod, sweet potato fries, asparagus, and carrots, all piping hot and perfectly cooked. The Caesar salad with Brie croutons and the calimari with homemade tartar sauce were perfect too. We wish we'd booked dinner here for both nights of our stay in Val David. Don't miss this gem. We can't recommend it highly enough!
Since being diagnosed with celiac 10 years ago, I haven't had a better meal. Actually, it may be one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The chef is incredibly talented and went out of his way to handle dietary restrictions without compromising the meal. You can speak with him directly. I had salmon salade with berry sauce, then duck with sauce, sweet potato fries and a tangy dip, plus carrots and asparagus. Dessert was a maple and amaretto flavoured crème brûle with wild berries. It's a classy restaurant with outdoor seating by the water, and the staff are super friendly.
The rooms were well appointed, with comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, and AC units for summer. We also appreciated the shared kitchen area, which had dishes, utensils, tea, coffee, and a microwave. The locked bike and luggage storage closet was convenient and easy to secure. We stayed in two rooms while riding the Petit Train du Nord bikeway. Les Passionnes is right off the path and about a two-minute ride from Val-David's main street, directly beside the river, where the views and rushing water are beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant wasn't open early in the week when we visited, but nearby there were several other options, including a local micro-brewery. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to other travelers.
