Rocky Inn

It’s a clean, fairly priced place, and I’d stay again when passing through, especially for travel or sledding. It’s a bit rustic and nothing fancy, but we had no other issues. The bathroom has no fan, so when I opened the door the room’s smoke detector went off. The towels could be bigger too. I’ll be back.

We had a lovely night in a warm, clean room. The staff were really friendly, and it felt well worth the price.

The wood inside gives the place a quaint feel, and the mountain view from our room was lovely. The beds were comfortable, and I really liked the soaker tub. We’ll stay here again.

The shower was the best part, hot and steady with enough pressure to strip bark off a cedar. For a few minutes, I forgot I was beside the highway. The TV worked and had plenty of channels, and the bathroom had modern fixtures after a facelift. No fancy soaps, just little plastic pouches with generic words, or minibar gin. There was a clean towel, a working lock, and the highway hum outside. The Rocky Inn is a two-story log place, part motel and part monument to Canada’s working backbone. Pickup trucks fill the front, and mud-streaked semis rest off the road. Loggers and pipeline crews come here for a bed, a shower, and a little peace before the alarm sends them back to work. The room is plain but honest. The bed is as unyielding as the logs stacked outside town, and it reminded me of every vertebra I own, maybe a few I’ve rented too. This is a stop between places, not a destination. It’s rough, it’s real, and it does its job. Just don’t expect to wake up without new aches. Ouch.
