Auberge Vancouver Hotel

We spent five days at the Auberge Hotel in a suite with a water view. The rooms are very spacious, and the staff were always there to help. The location really is the best in Vancouver, with restaurants and everything else just a short walk away. The spa was fantastic, especially the indoor pool with a view. It felt like a glimpse into the good life of a membership that stands above the rest. Well done, Auberge team.

The room was clean and spacious, and we also enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. There’s a gym and squash courts for guests too. Getting around was easy since the hotel is central, close to restaurants and shops, and near bus stops and train stations. We arrived well before check-in, so I’d asked ahead if we could leave our bags in the lobby. They said yes, and when we got there our room was already ready. We really appreciated that.

The staff were great, and we liked the view and amenities. Still, at full price I think we’d have been very disappointed. At the discounted rate it was okay, but compared with the Sheraton at a similar price, it doesn’t feel worth it. The walls are thin enough that you hear people in the hall and other rooms. The bed was just okay for the price, and the curtain left a gap at the side of the window that let light in and made sleeping difficult. Slippers aren’t provided, even though they’re required for the pool. Even the wall art is arranged poorly.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and the hotel stayed quiet even on a busy port day. We had no trouble with hallway noise or crowded elevators. Our compact room was nicely decorated, with lovely linens and a great sunrise view. The hotel also gives you access to a great fitness club, squash courts, a lovely pool, and an outdoor terrace. It’s downtown, near good restaurants and the cruise port, about a five-minute walk downhill through two nice parks. We stayed the night before our cruise, and it made the start of the trip easy and stress-free. Highly recommend!
