The restaurant was a highlight, Linda and the crew were A+, and the front desk was great too. The hotel itself is beautiful, though a couple of gym machines weren't working. My issue was the pool area closing early. Twice, after getting back late from work, I found the pool being cleaned at 9:40 and the sauna already off by 9:45, even though the posted closing time was 10pm. That cut short the last bit of downtime I was counting on. Otherwise it was a good stay, but those hours need to match what’s posted.

The restaurant served great food, and the waterfront view there was lovely. The hotel has that same view from its classy lobby and from many of the rooms, which were nice. We also liked the steam room and the little gym, with cardio equipment, mats, and free weights. The pool and hot tub are beautiful, though both felt a bit colder than we’d have liked during a late January ski weekend. Overall, a great hotel.

Parking came with the stay, and the spacious room was clean. Chateau Vaudreuil felt luxurious without costing too much. I liked the steam sauna, though the pool water looked a little cloudy.

The restaurant staff were excellent when we ate there, and the hotel and room looked beautiful. But the service outside the restaurant was awful for a five-star place. I tried several times to reach room service to order food, and usually got a busy signal or voicemail. The restaurant was hard to reach too. When I asked the front desk to connect me to room service, they transferred me to voicemail. There’s also a break in room service from 11am to 12pm, so breakfast or lunch can’t be ordered then. I’d never run into that before. A hotel stay is about more than having somewhere to sleep, and this made the experience disappointing.

The restaurant wasn’t open, which was too bad. Still, I loved the furnishings and the way they used colour. It felt like a summer resort where you’d want to spend the whole season. I hadn’t expected that from a place just off the highway. Can’t wait to return!
