After a nine-hour drive from the U.S., we felt welcome right away. Staff were kind, patient, and helpful, and made the stay easy. The lobby and lounge are clean, modern, and well organized, with a pleasant scent throughout. Our room was bright, clean, and a good size. The on-site bistro serves Starbucks Coffee, food, cocktails, and beer, which was a convenient extra. The location suited where we were going, with plenty of food options nearby and Canada’s Wonderland close by. Dave & Buster’s and IKEA are directly across, so it’s practical rather than scenic. My only disappointment was the lack of brochures or guides to local activities, something we’re used to seeing in many U.S. hotels. Overall, a comfortable, welcoming stay with great staff and handy amenities.

The rooms and location are great, but the service was atrocious. Nobody ever answers the phone, so you can get there in person faster than reaching the hotel by phone. And when I arrived, they wouldn’t help with anything. Breakfast lines felt like prison, and you even have to buy your toothpaste. I parked in their lot, and their snowplow left a mountain of snow in front of my car. They didn’t get anyone to clear it and told me to flag down a plow myself at 7 in the morning. I had to leave my car there. When I returned that evening, the snow was still piled up. It was the worst service I’ve ever received.

My fiancé and I are getting ready for our wedding weekend in a few months and wanted to arrange a stay at Courtyard by Marriot Toronto in Vaughan. The woman on the phone helped me set up an appointment to view rooms, and Nik kindly showed us the wonderfully large, clean rooms. I’ve been a Marriot member for years, and the service from Nik was wonderful. We can’t wait to stay here for the wedding weekend. Truly 10/10 service all around!

We booked a suite to have enough space while getting ready for my wedding, and the room itself was fine, if a bit overpriced. But we had a terrible time dealing with the staff when we checked in. I’ve stayed at many hotels and never had that kind of response from employees. The poor customer service would keep me from staying here again or recommending it to anyone.

The smooth room block was a real plus for our wedding. Setting it up and managing guest bookings was clear and stress-free, and Teresa S. was wonderful to work with. The hotel is also close to Paradise Banquet Centre, which made logistics much easier. We appreciated the welcome gift, and our honeymoon suite was clean and well maintained. Service at the front desk varied. Staff were warm when they learned at check-in that we were there for our wedding, but the hospitality dropped after that. Over the stay, they acknowledged us less, and even a hello or good morning seemed like a stretch for us and our guests. The suite was clean and comfortable, but felt overpriced even at the discounted rate. I suspect that reflects hotel pricing generally more than anything specific to Marriott. We also found it surprising there was no complimentary breakfast, food voucher, or similar offering. Without a car, the location is difficult, with few walkable options. Dave & Buster’s is closest, but not ideal for a relaxed meal or casual café. The on-site bistro disappointed too: its hours were inconsistent, portions were small for the price, and service left much to be desired. My husband said it made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. This location makes sense if you need to be near Paradise Banquet Centre and want an easy room block for wedding guests. But for a honeymoon stay, the warmth and level of hospitality may fall short. Better consistency in service, amenities, and the guest experience could make it feel more worthwhile for the price.
