Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria Uptown

We come to Victoria once or twice a year to see family and friends, and this hotel will be our new home base. Check-in and checkout were quick, the room was clean and had a nice little kitchen, and the staff were very friendly. The front desk communicated well about our special requirements, there was plenty of parking, and the price was affordable. My daughter was very pleased with the workout and pool area. We also stopped at the Loft Pub at the hotel for appies and a beer between events, and the food and service were great.

The room's outside entrance, motel style, made it easy for us to slip out early in the morning. The building has had some updates but is definitely older, and there are nicer places around. Still, it did the job for a hotel reasonably close to the airport.

I've stayed here three times while visiting Victoria, and it's been consistent each time. The rooms and hotel are very clean, and check-in is quick and easy. It's a motel-style place, so there's some outdoor noise, but it's generally quiet even with a pub upstairs. Good value, and close enough to downtown and Vic West. I'll probably stay again. This time I took a star off for the room: the tub was awkwardly small, and our heater never produced any heat. I didn't call the front desk because I noticed in the middle of the night and was traveling with a baby, so I didn't want to cause a disturbance. I feel sure they would have fixed it if I'd called. The pool's common areas also seemed unheated, making the walk to the change room and shower chilly. Both were minor inconveniences.

2026/ February/ 03, first stay at the Days Inn Hotel near Robin Hood hotel. Staff were friendly and the rooms look nice, but the shower was extremely finicky, with the water randomly going hot and cold. The laundry machines were also unreliable. I put in four dollars altogether, not much, but if you don't have much money, it's still a problem when the machine isn't working or up to date. I had to go upstairs to the restaurant to get more change, and the washing machine only worked on my third try. I asked staff to reimburse me, but they said they didn't have the funds. For a hotel with laundry machines, they should be able to do that, especially when this happens. My overall experience at the Days Inn hotel in Victoria was negative 100. Definitely not coming back unless my boss brings us back. Straight-up garbage.
