Mayfair Motel

The room was much bigger than we expected and came with everything from soap and towels to a fridge and Keurig machine. We were really pleased with the service, and the place exceeded our expectations. The woman at the front desk, who I assume was the owner, was welcoming and very helpful. She also pointed out events and attractions happening that weekend. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The room was roomier than expected and had two queen beds, two closets, mirrors, a bathroom, sofa, TV, microwave, fridge, and a small kitchen table. It seems well suited to a group or a longer visit. Transit was easy to reach, and it took only an 8-minute bus ride to downtown Victoria. Reception staff were super friendly and gave us a map and sightseeing suggestions.

The rooms were huge, very clean, and had comfy bedding. For what we paid, this felt like a hidden gem. There are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance, including a Starbucks, Tim Hortons, several restaurants, and a 7-11. The one small annoyance was hearing the people upstairs moving around in the morning, with the floor creaking under their feet.

It's a nice place north of downtown Victoria, run by a kind family rather than a chain. Our room was very large and had a full kitchen. We could borrow plates and things from the front desk, and we were able to do laundry in the evening. The desk staff also called a cab when we needed one.
