Wishing Well Cottages

The cabins are rustic but clean, and Robin is a fantastic host. The location is great, really close to the beach, with hammocks around the resort for lounging, including one in a tree. We only had to ask if we needed anything, and firewood was available to buy on site. The resort is still being worked on, and they even delivered eight new fridges while we were there. We booked in the off-season and got a great rate. We’ll definitely come back next summer.

Our stay at the cottage this summer was a nightmare. The rooms weren’t ready when we arrived, and they were unhygienic and badly maintained. There were cockroaches, and the carpeted rooms had a lot of sand. The water was shut off often, though I’m not sure if that was to control usage, and the toilets clogged easily. When we raised these issues, management blamed the nearby beach or said there was no maintenance available on weekends. Robin was very nice until she had the money upfront, insisted on cash only, and then didn’t come to the cottage at all during the week. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to enjoy being away from home.

We had a blast on Robin’s guided kayak tour to the Waterfall, and the whole family loved the morning walks along Wasaga beach with her. Our entire family and a few friends fit comfortably in the villa, which is about a minute’s walk from the beach. There’s also a fudge and ice cream coffee shop close to the complex, nice any time of day. The cottage was clean and fairly priced, and the BBQs and fire pit made for great meals. I’d recommend Wishing well cottages for a large family.

I loved staying here. The cottages were clean and cosy, and I really liked the hosts James and Robin. The beach is only a few minutes away on foot. I’ll definitely book at the Wishing Well Hotel again next summer. :)
