This was my second stay, and it gets better each time. Being so close to the beach was great with a baby, since the walk was so short. I plan to return next year, though I'll get a bigger room because my family is larger than I thought. I'd recommend edgewater to anyone with kids who wants to be near the beach.

The suite had an updated kitchen and bathroom, BBQs, and a central firepit we loved. Edgewater by the Bay is in a perfect spot, near all the action at Main beach but far enough away to enjoy our get-together. We stayed last year and are planning to come again this year, though it's hard to coordinate dates because places are booking up so quickly. We've heard Wasaga Beach has lots of exciting changes coming, and can't wait to see what's happening.

The old motel rooms need serious attention. My grandparents rent the same one each year and don't speak up because they don't care about the quality and are too old to complain, so I'm warning future guests. Edgewater By The Bay has improved the appearance of some rooms, but my family's older room was one of the bad ones. There are twelve motel rooms, and at least a few older ones seem to have these problems: The front door's locking mechanism was broken and flimsy, and it looked like it could be kicked in with one kick. There were major gaps between the worn or poorly installed door and frame, letting insects and other elements in. In one bedroom, a crack in the wall let guests see straight into a neighboring suite, which is a privacy and safety violation. The bathroom had no ventilation system or fan, so imagine four or five people using and showering in one ventless bathroom. There were also spiders and webs in the kitchenette corners and shower. Gross. I hope people think twice before spending money here. To the staff at every level of Edgewater By The Bay, please fix all the rooms and patch the gaps. Then maybe a price increase would be justified, and guests could feel comfortable and safe.

We stayed over the May 24 weekend with a group of students. The rooms were okay, but the exterior doors were thin, cheap wood with weak, poorly assembled twist-handle locks, and they weren't hung straight. Large gaps, around half an inch in places, let bugs and even small animals get in. People from the music festival wandered onto the property, and one guy came into a room and spat in my friend's face. It definitely didn't feel safe. The worst part is that it's been a month and the company still hasn't returned our refundable deposits, which they promised to give back if we "removed our bad reviews." Where is the $3000 your company took from hardworking students trying to pay for school tuition?

We couldn't sleep because of noise until 5 AM, like being in the middle of a nightclub. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bedding didn't feel clean. Broken windows let tons of spiders and mosquitoes into the room, and the shower experience was horrible. The place looked nothing like its photos and wasn't clean. We paid 250 for one night, and it was a terrible experience that ruined our trip to wasaga beach. If you want a good visit to wasaga, stay away from this "cottage."
