Stonecroft Inn

I had no contact with housekeeping, just as I prefer. They respected the privacy sign and never knocked, even early in the morning. The front desk staff were consistently friendly, and they helped extend our stay over the long weekend even though they were officially full. The place was clean, quiet even over the holiday weekend, and reasonably comfortable. Sound between rooms seemed better than usual for this price, and the guests seemed more on the mature side. No pool, probably for the best, no elevator since it's only two floors, and breakfast was cold items only, though there was a microwave. Those things matter little to me when choosing a hotel. It's no five-star Ritz, but as good as or better than nearby options in this price range, including the competitor across the street where I've stayed several times when Stonecroft was full. Don't be put off by it not being a chain. It's better!

We used to speak highly of this place, but never again after the last visit. They charged us extra, claiming we'd left the room a mess, even though we made sure it was tidy and organized. They also accused us of taking a Bible that had never been in the room. Then, at 9 a.m. on checkout day, room service came in while our checkout time was 11, despite the do-not-disturb sign on the doorknob. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Comfort Inn.

There's a bus stop right outside, which is handy if you use public transportation, and plenty of dining options nearby. I appreciated that they accommodated my request for early check-in. The staff were amazing, friendly, and approachable. My room was clean and comfortable, had all the amenities I needed, and breakfast was lovely. I enjoyed my stay at Stonecroft Inn and would definitely return and recommend it.

The rooms are nice and clean, and there's room for a bobtail semi. The location is good too. The only odd thing was where they put the coffee maker in the room.
