The bar itself had a good vibe, the place was clean, people were friendly, and the music was good. But when we went to Neon Lights for a night out, they charged us each a $10 cover because a band was playing, even though the bar was pretty empty. We seemed to be the only ones charged, while a large group arriving at the same time got in without paying. When I complained, they gave us drink tickets, but only let us use them for shots with no mixer. If you're white, be aware that there is definitely discrimination. Based on this experience, I wouldn't stay at the hotel.

I got a cheap room at the last minute. It was a bit dated but not terrible, apart from a faint cat litter smell. The place could use some love.

The pool area was the one good thing, though the chlorine was so strong in the air that it made me cough the whole time. The room was very cold, the place seemed dingy, and the front desk staff weren't especially friendly. More cons than pros. You get what you pay for.

The room was cold, and we had no way to turn on the heat ourselves. I asked the front desk four times for someone to switch it on, and we ended up sleeping in our clothes. I've stayed here before, back in 2000, and it's definitely gone downhill since then. Never again!

The water park here is really great, and all the staff were kind. I was happy with the service and facilities, and there was plenty of parking. It's very close to the airport and downtown. If you're traveling with a child or children, I recommend Canadiana!
