Holiday Inn Express Winnipeg Airport - Polo Park by IHG

The hotel has really gone downhill. There were kids playing in the hall, banging on doors and repeatedly yelling for Mom, while adults talked in the hallway for long stretches. Doors slammed several times during the night. There are security guards on every floor, which makes you wonder what's going on. Breakfast was very good, but at check-in the front counter staff's English was very poor. The airport shuttle now only runs on the half hour, even though it used to run on demand.

The pool and hot tub were clean and really nice, and the whole stay was just amazing. The quiet atmosphere was such a bonus. Our room felt cozy and was so clean, with lots of plugs and hooks. The beds were nice and firm, and the bathroom mirror and lighting were excellent. Staff were sooo friendly and even gave us water bottles at check-in. And breakfast was phenomenal: fruit, eggs, beans, bacon, waffles, juice, and coffee. Wow!

The staff were very friendly, housekeeping was attentive, and both our room and the front desk areas were very clean. But three nights of noise from the girls' hockey team on the fourth floor really disrupted our stay. I was in 426, with the team in rooms up the hall. The girls kept running through the halls, screaming, knocking on doors and running away, almost until midnight. Security had to come up several times. My family and I were in town for a funeral, and we'd traveled from different time zones, so we needed the rest. I hope the families were fined at checkout for causing the disturbance on several nights.

We loved our first visit as a family. The breakfast was delicious, the service was excellent, and we got to enjoy the pool every day we were there. Lots of stores are very close by too. A good family-friendly place, highly recommend.
