The peaceful riverfront setting and landscape design were standouts, and the hotel gives you a distinctly urban Winnipeg stay in a well-preserved historic district. I stayed one night and was very pleased. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, with reasonable rates, though this isn't a luxury hotel. The geothermal heating and cooling were a nice surprise. Parking wasn't a problem for me, and even a five-minute walk wouldn't have bothered me. If convenient parking is essential, though, a generic chain with surface parking or a large garage may suit you better. Canad Inns might be more your speed. I agree that the glass bathroom wall with semi-private blinds is a strange design choice. The lobby could also use more personality to match the thoughtful room design.

Good value and clean, with a pretty firm bed. The bathroom window was a bad call, and both the bathroom and exterior window blinds are almost see-through when there's light behind them. The “city-view” option doesn't mean much when the building is only three floors.

Housekeeping was great, and my pup loved the bed they provided. The Cibo restaurant next door was also great and had room service, though book a table if you want to eat in. But I was surprised so many reviews skipped over the bathroom having no privacy. There's a window between the bedroom and bathroom, and the blind they installed is completely see-through. That wasn't what I wanted for my family during our two-night stay. The sliding bathroom door was a bit hazardous too. Two of the three of us caught our fingers in it.

We stayed two nights for the Grey Cup. Great location and a nice stay overall. The restaurant next door is awesome and a must-visit. The bathroom window was a terrible idea. My wife didn't like it, even with the blind closed.

Getting around the city was easy from this excellent location, and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. Parking was the main drawback: it was hard to find and cost $22 on top of the room rate. The hotel's modular, minimalist design might not suit everyone, but I found it functional and comfortable.
