The New Cavalier Inn

The smell was awful, and the furniture looked like it had been rejected by a thrift store. I walked into the room, saw what was on the table, and left right away. I ended up paying 70 bucks more for the nearby Best Western, where I got a comfortable bed and a filling breakfast with a made-to-order omelette, bacon, sausages, and more. The extra cost felt well spent.

The staff made the stay for me. When my internet wasn't working on the first day, someone came to my room right away, and the next day they moved me to another room to make sure the problem was sorted. There was always someone at the front desk, 24/7, which was reassuring. I stayed nearly a week and had a very positive experience, especially for the price. The rooms and furniture are quite old, but I expected that given how much less I was paying than at other hotels. The bed was comfortable, and I mainly needed somewhere to sleep after being out exploring all day. If you're after a budget-friendly, comfortable stay with genuinely helpful staff and don't mind older furnishings, I'd recommend The New Cavalier Inn.

Please don't spend your hard-earned money here. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I've never felt so dirty. The old carpet had wads of gum and who knows what else stuck in it, and there was a dried-up hork on the front of the TV stand. The staff only seem to care about taking your money. They felt heartless and greedy.

This vendor kept trying to overcharge me for beverages by $1.55, so I'd take away a star and another 55 cents if I could. Watch the prices if you go. They add extra while entering the order into the POS machine, then call it a "service charge" when the machine adds a charge by itself. I gave them several chances to fix the mistake, but they still seem to do it. Don't go unless you want to be taken advantage of.
