The host was friendly and accommodating, and I enjoyed chatting with them. Parking was available off the street. I'd book here again, but bring your own towels.

I wouldn't recommend it. The door was stuck and I was left outside in the cold. There was no heat in the room, so I had to sleep in my clothes. Better to spend more on a decent place.

The room at Winnipeg Holiday was clean, but unbearably hot. I asked the host to adjust the AC and nothing changed, so after a long travel day we slept badly. The owner kept reminding us to leave doors closed because of break-in concerns, which felt stressful. There was noticeable street activity nearby, including people experiencing homelessness and visible drug use, so keep safety in mind. Parking was okay. I wouldn't recommend it.

I booked an Economy Double Room at Winnipeg Holiday through Booking.com for a solo trip and stayed one night, Sept 26-27, 2025. The advertised hotel was really a poorly converted private home, with partitioned garage spaces used as rooms and a strict no-shoes rule enforced like boot camp. I paid $100 CAD and expected basic functionality. Check-in through the follow-up from management was a nightmare. The room was closet-sized, and the tiny, uncomfortable bed barely fit one person, let alone a double. There was no toilet paper, towels, coffee, or anything else provided. I had to beg for basics. It felt like staying with a distant relative, not in professional lodging. The setup seemed like an Airbnb hack job. The shared bathroom was gross, with no guarantee of privacy or cleanliness. An alarm clock went off every hour all night, so I barely slept. When I asked about it, I got shrugs. The host also yelled at me for sharing the WiFi password with another traveler who was a guest too. The place felt run by paranoia, not hospitality. The night before, I'd paid $160 for a much better stay at the Garry Fort Hotel, which was clean, quiet, and had actual amenities. This was a makeshift room in what felt like a subdivided garage, and a downgrade. Even on a budget, I'd look elsewhere. It wasn't worth half the price. The worst part came after I left an honest review on Booking.com. Management sent me a private message that felt condescending and bigoted. They mocked me for “not considering saving money,” said I should have booked the pricier night elsewhere, and made a stereotype-laden jab about “doing business with Indians” not being easy. They ended with a smug “Ha ha” about free food deals in Canada. That's racism and ridicule, not customer service. I reported it to Booking.com. It's a red flag, especially for anyone from a diverse background. Skip Winnipeg Holiday unless discomfort, drama, and disrespect are what you want. Winnipeg has better places that deliver on the hotel promise. Solo travelers, couples, anyone, look elsewhere. Value: 1/10, overpriced for a home-share scam.

They didn't provide clean towels, the washroom was pretty dirty, and on the second night they locked us out, making it a hassle to get inside. I wouldn't recommend it. Next time I'd pay a few dollars more to stay somewhere better.
