Whale House Guest House

The bed was large and comfortable, the windows had a great view, and I really liked the hot tub. But the bathroom ceiling has a gap, so you can hear everything, and the door doesn't close all the way. Not great for romance, we ended up putting on loud music whenever one of us needed to go. There's no kitchen sink, just a tiny one in the washroom, and one window has no curtains. The coffee jar was empty, and we could hear lots of noise through the walls from what seemed to be other guests, so it never felt like we were alone. Our room was also ready 20 minutes after check in time. I know that's a small complaint, but it made for a bad first impression.

The Forest sauna was incredible, and the blue whale suite was clean and cozy. The hot tub was properly hot, which made a big difference since some places keep theirs turned down until you're almost there. Only 30 minutes from St.John's, with plenty to do and see nearby and right on the east coast trail. It's a DREAM zero day for thru hikers, or a good overnight stop on the southern shore trailway. You can drive your ATV right to the door. I'll definitely be back.

As a solo traveler, I picked the smaller room and it suited me perfectly, snug, comfortable, and spotless. The location was beautiful, and I walked a nearby trail to watch the sunrise over the ocean. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

I finally got a chance to relax and break from the routine while celebrating a special day. The stay was an awesome experience. The room was nice, the kitchen was clean and ready for making snacks, and the bathroom was clean with all the amenities just right.
