The beds were comfortable, the staff were polite, and the service was great. I didn’t make it to breakfast, so I can’t say how it was. Having laundry on site was a huge help.

Our weekend was very disappointing, and the kids felt scared and uncomfortable around the staff. If you’re considering a team stay, I suggest looking elsewhere. From the start, it seemed they didn’t want teams there and made things difficult. They often didn’t answer the phone, and when I asked for a block of rooms with queens, they said none were left. The block “rate” was $194, but many parents booked and then found rooms with two queens for $30-$50 less on Choicehotel.com or Expedia. Some group rate. At check-in, they seemed unhappy to have teams and put down a list of rules we had to agree to and sign before proceeding. They didn’t give us a copy to review or keep. There were multiple teams at the hotel, and if a kid even moved too fast, someone staying for work would complain and we’d get calls saying our kids were bad. The security guard followed the kids around and watched them from the pool window, which made them very uncomfortable. Staff seemed annoyed whenever we tried to talk to them. Housekeeping tried to enter our rooms at 8:30 or 9:00 am on days we weren’t checking out, then wouldn’t return if we said we were sleeping, showering, or getting ready. Breakfast ended at 9 am, while most hotels serve it until 10 or 11 on weekends. Oversized construction trucks were allowed to park across one-and-a-half spaces at the front, reducing decent parking. If you don’t want teams staying there, don’t book rooms to them.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The breakfast had no gluten-free options, even though I called ahead, and staff couldn’t give me ingredient details for the hot food. We stayed two nights, and it was appreciated that they made up our room and left fresh towels. The room could use some work, but the beds and pillows were comfortable. We were there for a youth hockey tournament, with several other youth teams also staying at the hotel. The staff had unrealistic expectations and made us feel unwelcome. The floors and walls are thin, so noise carries easily. We were told even walking down the hall during the day was too loud, though our kids were being reasonable and respectful. Our tournament schedule meant we weren’t spending much time at the hotel. Contractors staying there were working night shifts and trying to sleep. I’m not sure why the hotel would book lots of youth sports groups while putting night shift workers on the same floors. The waterslide hours weren’t ideal. There was no lifeguard, but a staff member monitored the pool even when parents were present. They also require a $350 damage deposit upfront, not a pre-authorization. If you’re coming with kids, book elsewhere in Yorkton.

The breakfast had a great variety and was very good, and the kitchen was exceptionally clean. The rooms were very nice and clean too. I’d definitely go back.

The staff didn’t seem to care or want to make things right, so we won’t book here again. My family and I had two rooms for a weekend and hoped for a relaxing evening, but that didn’t happen. One room smelled like rotten eggs, so we had to get a worker to smell it before they moved us to another room. There was only one elevator, and kids kept pressing buttons on the second floor and stopping it. It was frustrating, and I told the front desk many times, but nothing changed. There must have been a hockey tournament because there were lots of unattended kids running around all night and knocking on our door before running off. I spoke to the front desk over five times. I had kids with me too, and none of them behaved that way. We tried to go swimming, but a group of teens kept screaming, banging on the waterslide, and splashing us in the hot tub. I’ve stayed at many hotels, and this was by far my worst experience. I called today to speak to the manager, but she wasn’t in. The guy at the front desk had an attitude and said hockey players don’t respect other guests and there was nothing they could do. That’s horrible customer service and a way to lose guests. We always rent rooms in Yorkton for weekend vacations, but we’ll never book this one again.
