Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Yorkton

The breakfast ran until 10:30, which we appreciated, and we all ate well. The eggs could have been better, but they were edible, and the kids liked using the pancake maker. We also appreciated the late pool hours, until 10 pm, with no restrictions on children. The water was pleasantly warm, and the slide and hot tub both worked, though the old pool area was very dark in the evening and had a bit of a “dungeon” feel. We booked a King + Queen Bed suite for the extra room while travelling with young kids. Check-in went well: friendly service, an early check-in, and a great location near restaurants, shopping, and the mall. The suite had a good layout and size, and the bedding was clean and comfortable enough, though the pillows could use replacing. The room itself needed a better clean. The light switches looked like they hadn’t been wiped in a long time, and we used Lysol wipes on them and several other spots that seemed rushed or poorly cleaned. The pool windows were grimy with handprints and smudges too, something that looked like it would take only a couple of minutes to clean. Check-out was friendly, and the staff had washed and kept our forgotten swimwear for us, which was very kind. It was a good stay overall, but I hope the room is cleaner next time.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely. The waterslide worked, which made this one of my favourite places I’ve stayed in Yorkton. I’d heard the hotel where my mom was staying had a broken slide, so the kids couldn’t even use the pool.

I was only there for one night, so I didn’t inspect everything closely, but at first glance the bathroom was roomy and the beds looked neat and felt soft. The place was clean, quiet, and comfortable, though my room smelled like a hangover. I was pleasantly surprised by how extensive the breakfast selection was.

I booked through Expedia, but at check-in they said I couldn’t use my card there, even though it’s the same card I use at five-star hotels. I’d driven four hours and had nowhere else to go, and when I asked what I was supposed to do, nobody answered. I offered a $1,000 deposit and they refused that too. The customer service was ridiculous. I’ve never had this issue before. Proper service would have meant trying to find a solution.
