Holiday Inn Express Yorkton East by IHG

The location was handy, close to restaurants, shops, and gas stations, and there was lots of free parking. The clean pool and hot tub were a nice way to unwind. We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express Yorkton East. Our room was very clean and quiet, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. Breakfast was complimentary and had a great range of hot and cold food, including real sausage and cinnamon buns. The breakfast staff kept everything fresh and knew the area well. It was great value, and I’d absolutely stay here again. Definitely the best hotel option in Yorkton.

Holiday Inn Express welcomed us and made a cold night much easier. If they hadn’t opened their fog policy, I would have been outside in -40C last night. The place was clean, and customer service was a 10. I’m travelling with my service dog and Days Inn & Suites refused us a booking because of debit Visa, leaving us out in the cold. If you’re travelling with Fido, please book Holiday Inn in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

I phoned rather than booked online because I needed a pet-friendly room for an eight-hour trip to a wedding. The wedding rooms were already booked, but the person I spoke with said they’d add a note to my reservation in case a special rate was still possible. It was a nice gesture I hadn’t expected. When we arrived in town, we came early to ask about checking in. Nobody asked for my confirmation number. They said a different room was ready, but when I asked if it allowed pets, they said no. The guest services manager, Dakota, then spoke with us and was very rude. She said there was no note about needing a pet room, ruled out a wedding rate, and said my dog couldn’t stay in the room while I was at the wedding. When I asked why I hadn’t been told this on the phone, she said the person who booked me didn’t know the policies, and claimed this was the rule at every hotel. I asked where it said that on the website and she said it was there, but I still can’t find it on the site or in the terms of use. I’d like to know where it’s stated. My dog is a senior, and I’ve stayed in plenty of pet rooms over the years. This had never come up before. Dakota asked me to name the hotels I’d stayed in with my dog, which felt like she was trying to make me look dumb or like a liar, and she wouldn’t promise a pet room. We left to find somewhere to keep my dog and somewhere to get ready for the wedding. I called later because I needed to know if I had to arrange overnight care for her. The woman who answered was very nice, asked for my confirmation number, and said I’d have a pet room when we came back to check in. I don’t think my reservation or notes had actually been checked earlier. The other guest services staff were great, but after dealing with Dakota, I’ll never choose Holiday Inn again. I can’t believe someone so rude is the face of the hotel.

The front desk staff were courteous, and the location was great, close to Yorkton’s shops and restaurants. I booked the largest room with two King beds, and the space was fantastic for the price. Breakfast was simple, with a couple of hot items and the usual pastries, yogurt, and other cold choices. I had a good stay at this Holiday Inn Express.
