There are some really cool hiking trails nearby, and we had a great stay. The hotel was clean, the Wi-Fi was fast, the walls were thick enough to keep the rooms super quiet, and the water was hot. The food didn’t feel very authentically Swiss, so for the full experience you’ll want to eat somewhere else around town, which shouldn’t be a problem. Still, it was a great place. I’d recommend it and stay again.
The only good thing was the view. Our rooms were nearly 90° at 19:30, and there was no air conditioning. The food was raw and undercooked. I wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt, but then we came back to made beds with no fresh towels, no toilet paper, and nothing else restocked. They didn’t even take out the trash. Don’t stay here. The reviews above are false advertising.
We’re hoping to explore the mountains tomorrow. This lovely hotel has beautiful views and is outside Lucern. It seems like a great base for larger groups. I’m planning to buy a knife, cheese, a watch, and chocolate here.
The setting is unbelievably beautiful. It’s hard to picture waking up somewhere with a better atmosphere. We were here with an EF Educational tours group, and Campus Altdorf has just the basic necessities. The small staff did a fantastic job feeding us and looking after us. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet, exactly what we wanted. The free Wi-Fi actually works too. I’d love to return.
With the mountains right outside, it’s a fabulous place to stay. After a beautiful day of hiking, the clean rooms were just what we needed.
