The homemade breakfasts and dinners were a highlight, with generous portions, local ingredients, and lots of flavor. Emily and John put so much care into everything, and their thoughtful chats and personalized day-trip planning made us feel truly looked after. This charming B&B in Ayer has an intimate, cozy feel and was impeccably clean, with service that felt five-star. Getting to know the hosts made our unforgettable stay feel personal and special. We highly recommend it and will be back.

This little independent mountain hotel has just five rooms, with a basic rural style and good standards of cleanliness. The couple who run it put real care into making guests' stays special. Their homemade dinners are amazing, and breakfast is delicious, with local products. They’re also keen to help you plan how to make the most of your time in Ayer. Their 5.0-star average at the time of writing is well deserved.

The chalet had a lovely, cozy feel, and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. The whole experience with my son on our ski trip was sociable, family-friendly, and memorable. Emily and John welcomed us warmly and looked after us so well. They planned and prepared superb food, and were very accommodating with our dietary needs. Each morning started with a great breakfast before skiing, and we came back to cakes and hot drinks. The evenings were a treat too, with tasty canapés and a three-course dinner worthy of a top restaurant. We loved our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!

There’s a huge choice of walking and trail-running routes straight from the front door, and the valley is stunning. After a day out, we loved admiring the view from the balcony or relaxing with other guests in the lounge. Emily and John made us feel so welcome, and they’re amazing hosts. Their food was superb, proper restaurant-level cooking, and breakfast was wonderful too. Our room was lovely and comfortable, and the whole place was spotless and beautifully designed. We won’t forget our stay. Many thanks to Emily and John for making it so special.

We spent a lovely snowy week with Emily and John over Christmas 2024. The house is comfortable and so relaxing. Breakfast each morning was delicious, especially the granola, and every evening began with a much-appreciated aperitif before a tasty homemade dinner. We had great conversations with other guests and lots of outdoor fun, including skiing, snow rackets, and sledging. We came away with full bellies, rosy cheeks, and fond memories. Thanks, we’ll be back!
